And while Aquarius is not that keen on engaging the deeper emotional layers, the Waterbearer offers much needed objectivity, insight and detachment - so necessary when confusing, ground breaking transits are in the mix. Fortunately, the Moon is in Cancer and exactly conjunct the kundalini goddess Hygeia, so there is more than enough support for the deep emotional healing flux equally in play.
The Sun and Mercury in Aquarius forms the base of two Kite formations, with sextiles to Uranus in Aries and Pallas Athena in Sagittarius, who, in turn, send out flowing trines to both Jupiter and Juno in Leo. This also means that the Sun is opposite Jupiter and Juno, one of the most energising of oppositions.
The Kite is like a rocketship or bow and arrow and this one is particularly kinetic. One of the many gifts of Aquarius is its ability to see things from multiple and often unusual perspectives. Coupled with its capacity for insight and foresight, this gives it an almost magical ability to see opportunities for innovation and manifestation that others miss. The Kite heightens and fuels this capacity, especially as it connects the Aquarius Sun with its sky god ruler Uranus and the very focused Pallas Athena in Sagittarius, all of which is then hypercharged by the Jupiter contact.
Inherent in the Kite is a grand trine in the fire signs, one that supports the inspiration and creativity of Aquarius with the ability to act decisively at home and in the world, professionally and financially, especially when it involves creative change. This is the core driver in this month's chart and it's a very very good one! (As long as you don't fall into the Jupiter shadows of excess, arrogance and hubris!)
Probably the one real challenge to the Aquarius Sun is a square from the formidable Lilith in Scorpio, despite a good trine to her equally fierce cousin Medusa. The deep feminine is of great interest to Aquarius but it doesn't necessarily want to hang out with the dark ladies who speak such a different language and have a very different source of intelligence. With a square, though, this is unavoidable and he will draw her wrath if he does gets swept by his own brilliance into hyper-rational mode and subconsciously dishonours the feminine.
Medusa will join in such a scenario as an opposition to Uranus will arc up her ancient rage at the masculine and her sensitivity to betrayal. This can get very nasty if acted out but from a process point of view, it is a catalyst for the ongoing challenge of turning disempowering anger into power and healthy assertiveness. (Another reason why it is good having Hygeia, who specialises in the healing of such deep toxic territory, on the scene).
Last month, we saw that the soul relationship goddess Psyche conjunct Neptune, a great heart and psychic opener but one severely challenged by Saturn in Sagittarius and the Black Moon in Virgo. This month, her mother-in-law Venus gets the same treatment while she also conjuncts Neptune. Venus/Neptune contacts, especially in Pisces, are ecstatic, sensitising, transcendent, nebulous, slippery and lacking good boundaries. They are fabulous spiritually and creatively, but if projected into relationships, as she tends to do, the agony/ecstasy meter goes crazy.
This is perfect territory for the Black Moon's purifying and karma-busting actions as the same openings also flush out residues from our earlier relationship experiences, whether in this life or others. Venus is also conjunct Persephone, so expect more learning about letting go, as well as initiations into seeing our lives and loves with ever-deepening clarity.
It is equally rich pickings for Saturn to give us valuable lessons in boundary setting, projections and counter-projections and the differences between true vision and self delusion. Needless to say, it's going to be a tricky time for relationships.
Venus' consort Mars and their son Eros continue to travel together, now in Pisces and conjunct Psyche and Chiron. Without the Wounded Healer, this would be a happy family gathering, even a wedding of the archetypal couple Eros and Psyche.
While there certainly is a beautiful combination of erotic and healing energy activated by this, Chiron-style healing isn't always gift-wrapped. His targets will be any form of sexual wounding or violence, including distorted sexual energy absorbed psychically as children, and rage and anger that has slipped into the unconscious to become depression, despair and powerlessness. Again, this is another opportunity to delve into this territory with appropriately deep therapeutic and spiritual practices and can do much for healing the wounded masculine within us.
Chiron and his fellow travellers have great support for going deeply here, with aspects to Pluto in Capricorn and the tantric queens Lilith and Medusa. I am reminded that all the great movement processes, such as Five Rhythms, Chakradance and Kundalini dance are also powerful and brilliant places to take this energy and its opportunities. Kali wants to dance!
